Abstract
361,780. Plate heat exchangers. HARTMANN, E. and HARTMANN, M., (trading as HARTMANN, M. & E.), Freital, Saxony, Germany. March 23, 1931, No. 8846. Convention date, April 14, 1930. [Class 64 (iii).] In an air heater constructed of parallel plates a the edges b of which are bent in one direction while the adjacent edges c are bent in another, so that by fitting together a number of plates, meeting edges can be welded to form parallel passages between the plates alternating with similar passages at rightangles, the transition of the bending over of one edge to the oppositely directed bending of the adjacent one takes place gradually in the material which is not incised or cut out. Plates d are inserted to fill in the corner sections between the plates that cannot be directly joined.
