Abstract
360,323. Road vehicles. VIENEZIAN, C. C:, 40, Via Piffetti, Turin, Italy. March 18, 1931, No. 8338. Convention date, March 18, 1930. [Class 108 (i).] Road vehicles for transporting aeroplanes &c. are provided with means for the temporary fastening of skeleton frames, uprights, &c., which provide a superstructure for supporting the. load. Fig. 2 shows a vehicle loaded with a fuselage and tail planes, while Fig. 4 shows the vehicle loaded with aeroplane wings. The vehicle platform 1 or frame is provided with a skeleton frame 7 and uprights 10 or uprights alone and means are provided for securing them in holes arranged transversely of the platform. The upright 10 or member 13 for securing the frame 7 fits into an aperture 4 and is provided with a shoulder 14<1> to rest on the platform while a member 15 is arranged to oscillate by means of a set screw 18, 19 so as to bring a hook 20 to engage transverse members 6 and so secure the member 13 or upright 10. The wings are arranged to rest on cushions 28 and the uprights are provided with adjustable pads to engage the wings. The pads may be in the form of rollers 211, Fig. 11, carried by adjustable arms 27 from a sleeve 22<1> on the upright 10.
