357,995. Metal railway sleepers. VEREINIGTE STAHLWERKE AKT.- GES., 67, Breitestrasse, D³sseldorf, Germany. March 29, 1930, No. 10083. Convention date, Jan. 21, 1930. [Class 104 (ii).] Sleepers, metal; sleepers, securing rails to. -Rails are secured to unperforated metal sleepers a by pressing out of the sleepers, on each side of the rail foot, a pair of ribs b which form between them a groove for the reception of the bolt c securing the rail clip d. The ribs may have depressions or projections to secure the clips against lateral displacement. The portions of the sleeper out of which the ribs are pressed may be reinforced to provide the material for the ribs. In another form the ribs are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the sleeper. In the Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) a third form is described in which a single rib is pressed out on each side of the rail foot and forms an abutment for a fixing key engaging the rail foot. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
