Abstract
356,173. Roofing tiles. SMALL, W., Woodstock, Lordswood Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham. April 29, 1930, No. 13107. [Class 87 (i).] A roofing tile with an inverted tapering trough 1 at one side and an upturned wall 4 on the other side which is inclined to correspond with the tapering inclination of the outer wall of the trough has a cut-away corner 3 on the trough side and a cut-away corner 5 on the opposite side so that when the corners 3, 4, 5 abut the wall 4 of the tile A is in alignment with the outer wall of the trough 1 of the tile B diagonally below it. The edge 3 may face downwards and the edge 5 upwards so that the plane of the abutting edges 3, 4, 5 may cut the plane of the tile in a line substantially parallel to the top and bottom edges thereof. The joint 3, 4, 5 is covered by the trough of the tile shown in chain lines.
