Abstract

355,862. Swivelling couplings. MASTERS, A. B., East Coast Road, Milford, Auckland, New Zealand. June 17, 1930, No. 18492. [Class 38 (i).] A telephone lead is provided with a swivelling coupling comprising members 1, 2 of porcelain &c. one carrying resilient plungers 13 that engage concentric rings 10 inserted in the surface of the other. Each of the conductors 8 of the lead 9 is connected to a screw 7 mounted in a partition 6a in a tube 6 that houses the plunger 13 and a spring 9a pressing thereon. The conductors 12 of the other part of the lead 9 are connected to screws 11 mounted in the rings 10. The bolt 3 connecting together the parts 1, 2 passes through tubes 4 and has a central flange 3a.
