Abstract
355,283. Fittings for loading and unloading vehicles. YRARRAZAVAL, J. G., DE ANDIA-, 44, Avenue des Champs ElysÚes, Paris. May 14, 1930, No. 14829. [Classes 78 (ii) and 78 (iv).] Goods are transferred between two vehicles or other supports by causing them to slide directly over one or more elongated frames carrying transverse rollers and laid over the supports, the frames also carrying raising and lowering means at their ends. As shown, a trailer 1 and a railway truck 2 each carry slideways comprising a pair of channel members 3 connected by bars 8 and carrying a series of rollers 4, jacks being provided at both ends for horizontal adjustment, and being operated by separate cranks, a common crank, or from a motor carried on one of the vehicles. The goods 16 are drawn by ropes 13 passing over pulleys 14, 15 and attached to a winch 12 mounted on the vehicle 1, and are prevented from sliding back by suitable catches on the slideway carried by the vehicle 2, this slideway remaining on the vehicle with the goods during transport. The rollers are preferably carried by auxiliary frames connected to the jacks and mounted within the main frames constituting the slideways. In cases where it is not possible to arrange the vehicles alongside, intermediate slideways may be used.
