730,971. Vehicle stands. BLACKBURN & GENERAL AIRCRAFT, Ltd., BRUMBY, H., and WARBURTON, D. S. May 19, 1953 [May 21, 1952], No. 12879/52. Class 79(3). [Also in Group XXX] Each pair of wheels of a wheeled vehicle is supported from a pair of parallel rails 1, 2 by a carrier provided at each end with rollers 1<SP>1</SP>, 21, Fig. 3, and joined by a stretcher of fabric or similar material in which are formed apertures 4 which permit lashings to be secured to the members 1, 2. As illustrated an adjustable chain or cable lashing 6 passed around the tyres of a vehicle is secured to the members 1, 2 by shackles 7, 8. Further lashings may pass around the vehicle axle. Cable clamps 9 at each end of the frame are adapted to engage a cable by which the vehicle is towed along the rails. The invention may be employed for supporting vehicles from elevated rails extending along each side of the freight compartment of an aircraft as described in Specification 730,969, [Group XXXIII], and for supporting vehicles on the lift for loading aircraft described in Specification 730,970, [Group XXX].
