Abstract
354,949. Casting composite articles. DEHN, F. B., 103, Kingsway, London.- (Parish, R. L. ; 122, South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, U.S.A.) July 8, 1930, No. 20704. [Class 83 (i).] In a coupling clamp a bolt 18 is formed with a screw - thread 20 at one end and at the other end collars 23, 24 formed integral with the bolt; this bolt is placed in a mould and the clamp 10 of lead cast around it. When the lead has cooled the clamp is held in a vice and the bolt given a few twists to cause it to become relatively loose in the clamp. The clamp has an opening 14 coned on each side to allow it to fit over the coned terminal of a battery. The clamp has a lug 7 to which a cable 5 is connected. Before casting the exposed portions of the bolt are lead plated to prevent corrosion.
