Abstract

354,571. Jigging conveyers. SCHENCK EISENGIESSEREI UND MASCHINENFABRIK DARMSTADT GES., C., 55, Landwehrstrasse, Darmstadt, Germany. Aug. 28, 1930, No. 25726. Convention date, May 17. [Class 78 (i).] The trough a is supported by weak inclined blade springs b and is caused to oscillate at a high speed by rotating discs c, c<1> which turn in opposite directions. Each disc has a weight d attached to it near its periphery. Each pair of discs is connected by gearing f, and the discs are driven from a motor by a flexible shaft e. Means are provided to damp the oscillations of the conveyer as soon as they exceed the normal amount. These means comprise either (1) a bolt k, Fig. 3, connected to the trough a which passes through a slot g<1> in a braked disc g, or (2) a projection r, Fig. 4, on the trough which oscillates between adjustable stops p<1> mounted on the common crosshead p of piston rods o operating in dashpots n.
