Abstract

Resinous substances, such as alkyd resins, which are convertible by heat, are applied as coatings for wood, metal, paper, porcelain, asbestos, &c., by directing a stream of the finely-powdered resin through a flame or other heating zone on to the surface to be coated. The coated article is afterwards baked. Pigments or colouring agents are added during the manufacture of the resin or before the pulverizing.
