Abstract

354,359. Burners. MAYER, H., 61, Kettenhofweg, Frankfort-on-Main, Germany. May 6, 1930, No. 13930. [Class 75 (i).] Open-tray burners; vaporizing-apparatus.-Liquid fuel is vaporized by dropping on a hot plate 4 formed with air openings 6, 7, 8 and surmounted by a cap 12, the vapour and air mixture being guided by an arched channel 13 in the cap 12 to a mixing chamber 10 to which additional air is supplied through an annular channel 11, a duct 14 and inlets 19, 20, 21 having directing tongues 22. The annular channel 11 is formed between the channel 13 and a wall 17 around the plate 4 and is fitted with baffles sloping downwards to form narrow inlets 16 into the mixing chamber. The wall 17 is formed with an air hole 18 and the combustion chamber with an air inlet 21a. The openings 6 in the plate 4 may be replaced by a single annular slot.
