Abstract

353,173. Castors. SHAW, H. S. HELE- and BEACHAM, T. E., 64, Victoria Street, London, and DAVIES, N. A., 11, The Oakway, Radlett, Hertfordshire. June 4, 1930, No. 17276. [Class 52 (i).] In a castor wherein the horn piece b<2> and base plate a<2> are connected by a race of balls, the latter are inserted through a plug a<6>in the inner race. The races are formed with shallow grooves a<9> at their maximum diameters, the outer race is thickened diametrically opposite the wheel axle to withstand the tensile stress, and the upper edge of the outer race is shrouded by a depending lip a<12> on the inner race to exclude dust and moisture.
