Abstract
352,146. Jar &c. closures. HELBERG, 0., 5, Plan, Hamburg, Germany. May 6, 1930, No. 13943. [Class 125 (iii).] A closure for jars &c., of the type in which a retaining ring a, which can be readily torn off, is folded in U-shape about flat flanges provided on the vessel and its cover, is characterized by the retaining ring being formed from an uninterrupted piece of metal of cylindrical form fitting the cover d, which is of dished form, the inner diameter of the ring corresponding to the outer diameters of the flanges of the vessel and cover, e<1>, d<1>. Tearing pieces b, c, formed integrally with the retaining ring, are provided which are folded to lie in the hollow of the lid.
