351,789. Valves ; cylinders. TAYLOR, E., Craymont, Durham Road, Bishop Auckland, Co. Durham, and TAYLOR, T., 6, Murray Street, Strand, Cape, South Africa. July 30, 1930, No. 23029. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi). ] A series of inlet ports I<1> and of exhaust ports E<1> arranged one above the other around the combustion chamber are controlled by corresponding ports S<1> and Se in a rotary sleeve valve S, an extension H of the cylinder head projecting within the valve being formed with two sets of ports H<1> to correspond with the cylinder ports. The size of the combustion chamber is reduced by providing a projection P<1> on the piston. The extension H may be formed on the piston instead of on the cylinder head.
