Abstract

In order to improve the dispersing powers of liquid and plastic cleansing agents for fibrous materials, sulphonated lauryl alcohol is added.ALSO:Sulphonated lauryl alcohol, prepared by sulphonation of the alcohol under the usual conditions, is added to liquid and plastic preparations used for cleansing vegetable, animal or other fibrous materials, whereby the wetting, dispersing and penetrating properties of the preparations are improved. Washing, bucking and bleaching agents commonly employed may be used in addition. Specifications 317,039, [Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], 350,432 and 351,452 are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use of the sulphonated lauryl alcohol in the production of finishing agents since it renders fibres soft and flexible. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
