Abstract
351,144. Enclosing dust from rock drills. TREDEGAR IRON & COAL CO., Ltd., 60, Fenchurch Street, London, and WILLIAMS, S., 2, Penrhiw Terrace, Oakdale Village, Monmouthshire. April 15, 1930, No. 11962. [Class 124.] A hood 1 for enclosing the dust from a borehole contains two pivoted jaws 2 which enter the mouth of the hole and are then forced apart by a screwed tapered ring 8. These are surrounded by a rubber sleeve 13 carrying a sponge 14. The dust is sucked by an air ejector 10 through a hole in one jaw into a filter bag 16, made of flannel enclosed in canvas. A rubber diaphragm 9 surrounds the tool steel. The air supply to the tool and ejector is controlled by the valves 17.
