Abstract
<PICT:0349155/IV/1> The upper and lower hollow lips, b, b1 of a mouth-piece for agers and other closed chambers for treating fabrics are made separately from the mouth-piece structure itself, that is from lengths of piping mounted, coupled or interconnected and supported to allow of expansion and to permit of easy renewal or adjustment. The pipes b, b1 which are connected together at one end to allow steam to be passed through are bolted to the main casting a by bolts c. The hollow swivelling valve member c is held sufficiently closed on the ingoing and outgoing fabric F by a weighted arm and is drained by a pipe e1 into the ager. Means are also provided to allow expansion of the support structures of the member e. A deep trough a1 on the inner wall prevents dripping on to the incoming and outgoing fabric.
