Abstract

346,650. Straight bar knitting - machines. INNES, HENDERSON, & CO., Ltd. and FARRIES, T. H., Victoria Mills, Hawick, Roxburghshire. Oct. 10, 1930, No. 33870. Divided application. [Class 74 (ii).] Frames of the Cotton Blackburn Kiddier and other types are provided with yarn-carrier mechanism which permits the production in ground yarn only of reversible fabric bearing multi-coloured patterns in various kinds of stripes, geometrical figures, &c. Each yarn-carrier reciprocates between two cams 4. Each cam is mounted on a bar 5 the end 5<1> of which projects between two adjacent yarn.carrier holders 6 to form a stop. The bars 5 are mounbed on two bars 11, 12 movable endwise. Each division of the frame has a number of yarn-carriers 1 mounted in the holders 6 which slide on a guide bar 7. Each holder is normally engaged by a spring plunger 2 mounted on the reciprocating carrier bar 3. When a plunger reaches the end of its traverse it strikes one of the cams 4 and releases the holder 6, which comes to rest against the corresponding stop 5<1>, while the plunger goes on and picks up another holder and traverses it. When the bars 11. 12 are moved endwise the edges of the stripes &c. being formed are correspondingly varied.
