Abstract

344,330. Reversing prisms. ZEISS, C., Carl-Zeiss-Strasse, Jena, Germany. Aug. 1, 1930, No. 23201. Convention date, Aug. 3, 1929. [Class 97 (i).] A reversing prism affording parallel vision has two ray-traversing surfaces a, b and six totally reflecting surfaces a, c, d, e, f so arranged that all reflections take place in one plane. Two of the reflecting surfaces form a roof c and one of the other four serves at the same time as a raytraversing surface a. A ray entering the system through the surface a first strikes the roof and is thereupon reflected direct by the surface a. The angle enclosed between the surfaces a, d is less than 110‹. The complete prism system is made up of two parts I, II, cemented together and all the reflecting surfaces are unsilvered.
