340,090. Agate, C. S., and Connell, W. H. Nov. 7, 1929. Condensers.-A variable condenser is attached to a supporting plate or panel by a resilient mounting. In the example, shown as applied to ganged condensers, the chassis b, carrying the fixed vanes c and the supports c for the shaft bearing the movable vanes, is secured to a resilient plate g which is fixed to the front panel of the instrument by bolts j. Plates g of bowed spring form may be used or spiral springs. The spring plates may be secured to the panel each by a single bolt about which the chassis is substantially balanced. To accommodate for movement due to the resilient mounting, pairs of condensers may be moved in unison by means of dials f caused to rotate together by a friction clutch comprising arms m, n secured to the ends of one of the two shafts, bearing spring leaves o adapted to be sprung into the inside of the adjacent drum dials f, one pair into one drum and the other pair into the other drum.
