Abstract
339,482. Smith, H. Dec. 2, 1929. Inking-apparatus.-A scraper 2, Fig. 1, for an inking-roller 1 has attached thereto a reclaiming blade or wiper 6 which returns to the surface of the roller any material which passes beneath the scraper. The wiper 6 may be formed integrally with the scraper 2 and the holder, or may be bolted to the scraper, or the wiper and scraper may be formed in one piece, bolted to the holder. The wiper 6, Fig. 5, is bolted to the holder 9 and the scraper 2 adjustably held therein. Fig. 7 shows a modification in which the ends 14 of the wiper 6 are bent round the end of the roller 1 and bent again at 15 to catch any material escaping over the edge of the roller. A secondary scraper may be used beneath the wiper.
