Abstract

338,630. MacGregor, R. Sept. 4, 1929. Hatch covers. - Sectional hatch covers comprise pairs of plates 1<a>, 1<b> hinged together at 2 so that one plate can be swung over on the other and the pair slid off the hatchway on rollers 3 running on the hatch coaming or on fore-and-afters subdividing the hatchway. The abutting edges of the sections are protected by packing materials 9, Fig. 3, held in position by bars 10 positioned by studs 7 carried by a flange 1<c> secured to an hatch section and entering a recess in a flange 1<d> carried by the other. The hinges 2 are set back from the edge to position the studs 7 away from the edge when the sections are folded. Specification 305,836 is referred to.
