Refrigerators, domestic and like. - In domestic refrigerating apparatus, the condenser 24, compressor 23, and evaporator 37 are arranged in a single compact structure with spacing and operative connections 26and 27 on one side which can be withdrawn horizontally from the apparatus, and slide over a non-perforated wall 43 of the refrigerator space. The condenser and compressor are mounted on a base plate 22 resting on the wall 43. The apparatus is held in place by a bracing strip 18 attached by screws 19 to the edge of wall 43 while hollows 20 and 21 in the strip combine with similar hollows in the edge of wall 43 to form cylindrical passages for arms 26 and 27. Pipes 40 and 41 conveying refrigerant to and from the evaporator pass through tubular connection 26 while leads from a thermostat 39 to the motor switch 42 pass through member 27. The condenser and compressor may be covered by a movable casing 45 with louvres 46 and a non-insulated receptacle 15 for non-perishable articles is provided. In a modification, the receptacle 15 is placed beside the upper part of the refrigerating unit which then slides into a small permanently attached cupboard.
