Abstract

Book - keeping. - In a visible card-index system contained in a tray or drawer, each card has an account sheet attached to it in such a way that a journal sheet with its duplicating sheet can be placed underneath the account sheet and displaced relatively to the account sheet perpendicularly to the axis of rotation of the support of the card. The account sheet 1, Fig. 1, is attached to the card 2 by engaging two corners under flaps 4; in other arrangements lugs or tongues on the sheet are inserted in horizontal slots in the card, or the sheet has lateral folds for insertion in perpendicular slots or under perpendicular flaps. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, the account sheet consists of a folded sheet, one section 1c being higher than the other, leaving a projecting edge 1d which is put into a horizontal slot of the holder or attached directly to the supporting rail 3a; the fold of the double account sheet forms a side gauge for the journal sheet 6, and the support in this case must be first removed from the tray or drawer before the account sheet can be removed. The account sheet may be of transparent paper.
