Pencil holders. - The pencil holder described in the parent Specification is modified by mounting the spiral detachably so that renewal is facilitated, The spiral is mounted between washers 7b on the longitudinally slotted tube 8 and is formed with a projection 20 engaging a slot in a tube 7 supporting the spiral and fixed in the barrel 2. The upper end of the slotted tube 8 forms a receptacle for refills and is closed by an eraser 21 covered by the operating- head 12 of the mechanism. In an alternative construction a cap or a flange on the tube 8 and a screwed member fixed in the barrel 2 replace the washers 7<b>.
