Producers.-Powdered and granular fuels are gasified by means of oxygen in admixture with steam, and part of the gas produced is re-introduced into the producer together with the gasifying medium wherein it is burned with a part of the oxygen before the gasifying medium reacts on the fuel to be gasified. The gas may be reintroduced into the producer by means of an injector, the operative medium of which may be steam or oxygen, or air enriched with oxygen, or a mixture of both. The fuel may be treated in a state of suspension.
