Abstract

335,697. Dowty, G. H. Aug. 29, 1929. Wheels with spokecovering and like discs.- Aeroplane landing wheels are fitted on one or both sides with a flexible fairing- shield 3 having wired edges 4, 5 bearing against the wheel disc 1 and the tyre 12, respectively. The outer edge of the shield is fitted with springs 6 adapted to tension the shield and carrying a ring 7 for engagement with an annular clip 2 (or a series of clips) fixed to the wheel. The ring 7 may be fitted with handles 9.
