Twisting-machines with twisting arrangements at delivery; thread-guides; moistening filaments in twisting and reeling machines.-Artificial silk is drawn from a twisting- spool a and allowed to fall directly into a liquid without the interposition of guides, and passes through a guide b immersed in the liquid and is then wound on a reel d. The liquid preferably contains a substance, such as a wax-oil emulsion; adapted to form a protective coating on the filament. Precipitants which do not crytsallize out are preferably used in the spinning process.
