Abstract

334,824. Blanchard, F. C. Feb. 8, 1929, [Convention date]. Eccentric-actuated pumps; valves, arrangement of. - A two-cylinder lubricating pump 43 mounted in an oil tank 11 draws oil from the tank through a strainer 75 and a port 57 and discharges to a conduit 21 through a port 58, communication between the cylinder ports 56 and the ports 57, 58 being controlled by piston valves 60. The pump pistons 59 and the valves 60 are actuated from a shaft 44, driven from the machine to be lubricated, by eccentrics 62 and 65 respectively. The eccentrics 65 are fixed to the shaft while the eccentrics 62 are mounted loosely thereon and are each provided with a pin 69 having a lost-motion driving connection with a collar 70 secured to the shaft, as shown in Fig. 7, whereby the shaft may be driven in either direction. The tank is provided with a filling opening closed by a spring-pressed swinging cap 12.
