Abstract
333,329. Greenhalf, B. T. P. May 29, 1929. Pocket igniters, frictional.-The friction - wheel h is mounted as in an extension h<1> of a pivoted wind-shield l so that it can be displaced for the purpose of renewing the flint a in a direction substantially at rightangles to the operative face of the flint. The friction-wheel is normally held in contact with the flint by a spring-pressed detent m engaging the lower part h<2> of the extension h<1>. The flint a is mounted in a sleeve b extending into a tube d, attached to the top plate e, and engaging an externally threaded stud f<2> provided with diametrically disposed flats f<1> engaging similar flats d<1> on the tube d. The tube b is held against longitudinal movement by the wick-tube j and a plate k engaging over a flange c so that, on rotating the tube b by means of the flange c, the flint is longitudinally adjusted by the stud f<2> and a spring g. A milled disc h<3> is provided on either side of the friction-wheel to facilitate operation. A wick cap o is carried by a spring- controlled pivoted plate o<1>. Specification 297,188 is referred to. The Provisional Specification describes also a construction in which the windshield is provided with a tongue adapted to be engaged by a detent comprising a double-headed pin mounted in a slotted plate and controlled by a curved blade spring
