Abstract

332,777. Dunlop, S., (Maytag Co.). Aug. 15, 1929. Guards.-A guard casing 18 for a belt 9 by which the drive is transmitted from a motor 5 to a worm shaft 12 driving a washing machine is loosely and pivotally mounted on the worm shaft and is provided with a jockey roller 23 resting on the belt. The shaft 12 and the belt form the only supports for the guard casing, so that the weight of the latter, augmented by a spring 24, maintains the tension on the belt.
