Abstract
331,699. Lodge-Cottrell, Ltd., (Welch, H, V.). July 11, 1929. Cases, heating with electric discharges.-In an electrical precipitation plant in which the gases flow in succession through a series of units, provision is made to cut out one or more of the units. In the horizontal arrangement shown in Fig. 1, in which gas passes through a main flue 9 and is directed into the units 4, 5, 6 and 7 by dividing walls 8, each unit is associated with a bye-pass chamber 13 and valves 12 are provided to close the inlet and outlet openings of each unit, and valves 12a to open the corresponding bye-pass chambers 13.
