Abstract

331,375. British Rema Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Howden, P. June 19, 1929. Fans; casings ; density separators.-In apparatus, such as fuel pulverizing plant, where ground material is conveyed by an air current to one or more cyclone separators, the current is obtained by a fan with a tangential inlet arranged on the pedestal side of its casing. The fan is supported on a pedestal D, Figs. 1, 2, and has an impeller A in a casing B provided with an adjustable tangential inlet C<1> which opens into an annular channel F. The inner edges of the impeller blades are cut away as shown at a<5> and the inner wall of the channel F is extended to the bearing a<6> in the central impeller space. The opening in the casing through which the impeller is passed is closed by a detachable plate E. The fan may be driven through gearing, mounted in the pedestal bracket.
