Abstract
330,174. Taylor, I. July 25,1929. Expanding tables combined with receptacles.- A table with end leaves which are telescoped under a central top is formed at each side with a pair of side rails, each pair forming a passage for the runners to which the leaves are attached; in the side rails are inclined grooves receiving lateral projections on the runners, so that as the end leaves are closed in they move to a position under the central panel of the table. The table shown comprises extensible leaves 4 attached to runners 5 so as to telescope under a central leaf 3. At each side of the table are rails 2, 2<a> forming a passage 7 with inclined grooves 8 to receive laterally-projecting lugs 9 on the inner ends of the runners 5. Between the inner rails 2<a> is a cavity, the base of which is a panel 10, adapted to receive cutlery &c. The top panel 11 may be removed, or may be supported by folding struts 12. It may be lifted by a rod 14 sufficiently to enable the edge to be engaged by the fingers. Specification 330,175 is referred to.
