Frictionally seated lids and covers.-Apertures in sheet-metal drums or containers are closed by inserting a flanged cap into the hole until the flange engages the outer edge thereof and then compressing the inner cap portion by a direct pressure applied externally of the cap causing it to form a rivet-like head. The cap and flange may be soldered to the container if it holds thin or sensitive liquids.
