Abstract
326,527. Blackburn Aeroplane & Motor Co., Ltd., and Thornton, A. C. Jan. 27, 1927. Dropping bombs and other articles from a height.-A member E, Fig. 1, adapted to be secured to an aircraft, is provided centrally with a bomb-dropping device F and near the ends with crutches C against which a bomb or torpedo A is pressed when suspended by the device F. The arms of each crutch C are pivoted to a bracket C<2>, Fig. 3, and are adjusted by screws C<5> to suit the size of the bomb. The two arms may be coupled together so as to be adjustable by a single screw. A longitudinal member J is slidably mounted on the member E, and is provided with adjustable sleeves J<2> carrying pegs co-operating with holes in the member E for releasing loops for controlling the fuze mechanism of the bomb.
