Abstract

326,050. Ellis, S. E. April 2, 1929. Locking.-A screwed nut 6, after tapping, has a slot 7 made in it, the outer edge of which is afterwards partly closed. When screwed into the upper part of the nut, the bolt will again open the slot to re-align the threads, and thus an increased grip between nut and bolt will be obtained. In deep nuts two slots may be used.
