Abstract
323,302. Chamberlain, J., and Periam, H. Oct. 30, 1928. Transparent paper.-In the production of transparent paper suitable for making bags or like containers or for wrapping ornamental boxes or other goods which are desired to be visible through the wrapping, thin glazed paper made from highly beaten pulp such as that known under the Trade name " Glassine " is impregnated with a solution of castor oil or like oil in a solvent containing an aromatic hydrocarbon such as benzole, drying the product, then impregnating it with a solution of a gum such as shellac, copal, or one of the known synthetic resins such as a phenol condensation product, and finally drying. A suitable solvent for the gum or the like is methylated spirit. Specifications 5681/83; 9575/85, [Class 98, Photography], 213,810, and 260,306 are referred to.
