Abstract
323,225. Stell, A., and Stell, J. Sept. 25, 1928. Spindle apparatus. - In flyer r spindle apparatus for spinning, twisting, doubling, and like machines of the kind wherein the upper ends of the spindles are carried in antifriction bearings and the lower ends are supported by footsteps, the upper part g' of the support g carries the antifriction bearings and the lower part g<2> accommodates the flange a<2> of the wharl and serves to support the spindles when the footstep rail is removed. The outer race of the bearing is carried in an annular member m which is loosely mounted in the part g<1> but is prevented from rotating by a pin and slot connection n, and the inner race is secured by a cover h. As known, the wharl may be formed in two coupled parts and may be formed with an interior of such dimensions as will allow a free path for the yarn.
