Abstract
322,336. Morris, C. Nov. 28, 1928. Couplings. disconnectible.-In a coupling for fire hose of the kind described in Specification 1053/77, each of the spring- controlled locking bolts b. Fig. 1, are adapted to he withdrawn by means of a sleeve or collar D fitted on the bolt housing B between the body of the coupling member A and the swivelling knob C of the bolt. The sleeve D is formed flat at the end bearing against the knob and, at the other end, concave at d and convex at d<1> to conform to the convex contour of the coupling mem ber, so that when the collar is rotated the surfaces d<1> ride over the surface of the coupling, Fig. 3, and force back the knob C. In a modi fication as applied to a coupling A<2> for an engine outlet, Fig. 8, wherein the swivelling knob is replaced by a simple release knob C<1>, the rotatable collar is dispensed with and the concave and convex surfaces conforming to the body A<2> are formed on the end of said knob.
