Abstract

322,044. Nagle, S. C. Oct. 9, 1928. Golf &c. practising appliances.-An apparatus for practising strokes at a ball resting on the ground is arranged to return the ball to approximately the same position after each stroke, and comprises an elastic ligature which is connected at one end to the ball and at the other by detachable means to the centre of a short transverse elastic member. This latter member has means for detachably connecting it to anchoring pins fixed in the ground. The invention is described with reference to an apparatus for practising golf. The ball 1 has an eye 2 to which is connected one end of a rubber band 14, the other end of which is connected to a swivel 15. A second band 13 connects the swivel 15 to one end of the elastic ligature 3, the other end of which is conrected to the mid-point of an elastic transverse member 4. At each end of the transverse member 4 are elastic members 5 attached to ground pins 6 by loops 7 so forming a frame of " H " shape. All the connections are detachably made by the inter-connection of loops as shown. Ligatures 3 of various lengths or thicknesses may be supplied, or two or more may be connected together.
