Capsules and like closures; stoppers secured by clamping - devices.- Relates to closures for jars &c. of the type in which a disc &c. is secured over the mouth of a container by a ring having inturned upper and lower flanges or series of tongues &c. which engage over the disc and under a shoulder on the neck of the jar &c. Tongues D, D<1> on the ring are arranged in staggered relationship as shown in Fig. 2. The blank is consequently of zig-zag formation, and the flexibility of the ring is thereby increased.
