Abstract

320,936. Hotpoint Electric Appliance Co., Ltd., and Sims, W. J. July 26, 1928. Electric hot-plates.-In apparatus wherein a metallic sheathed resistance is embedded in metal cast around it, an earthing lug is clipped over the sheath before the casting is performed. The lug projects beyond the casting sufficiently to ensure that the screwed or clamped earth connection to the lug remains cool. In the nested hotplates 3, 1, sheathed heating elements 4, 2 are provided with earthing lugs 6, 5. Similar lugs 10, 13 pass through slots in insulating terminal blocks 7, 12, split pins being passed through the ends of the lugs to retain the blocks in position.
