Abstract
319,309. Dicker, S. G. S., (Bradley- Fitch Co.). June 19, 1928. Divided on 319,392, [Class 1 (iii), Oxides &c., Metallic]. Treating ores to facilitate concentration.-Iron ore and other iron-containing material, particularly ore such as limonite or haematite, is' treated to render a greater proportion of the iron content susceptible to magnetic concentration by treating it with a reducing gas at about 400-500‹ C. The treatment may be carried out in the presence of water vapour, which may be formed by the partial combustion of the reducing gas when this contains hydrogen.
