Abstract
1376837 Treating iron sulphate; iron oxide COMPAGNIE INDUSTRIELLE DES TELECOMMUNICATIONS CIT-ALCATEL 28 June 1972 [28 June 1971] 30200/72 Heading C1A Iron sulphates resulting from the concentrating of washing solutions used for physiochemical purifying of smoke and gases contained in a gaseous current, the smoke and gases comprising substances derived from sulphur are heated in the presence of carbon at a temperature between 900‹ C. and 1050‹ C. The iron sulphate may comprise both ferric and ferrous sulphate and may be heated in the absence of air. The proportion by weight of carbon may be between 5 and 7 % in which case magnetic oxide Fe 3 O 4 is produced or may be substantially 15% in which case iron is produced.
