Abstract
315,915. Richardson, W. G. April 21, 1928. Golf - practising appliances.-A substitute for a golf hole comprises a ring of wire having a prong by which it is anchored to the ground and a curved guard attached to or associated with the ring. The guard projects a desired height above the ring, and is mounted so as to be adjustable with or around the ring. The ring 11, Fig. 5, is formed with a prong 12, and the semicircular guard 13 has an arm 14 extending to the centre of the ring and having a spike 15 about which the guard may be turned. In a modification, Fig. 6, the spike 21 may be situated at the centre of the ring and connected thereto by an arm 20 while the guard 22 is movably connected to the ring by clips. Two other methods of constructing the guard are described. One consists of forming it principally from one continuous length of wire and the other in riveting a radial strip with its attached spike to a piece of material of half-round section.
