Abstract

275,272. Jones, E. H. July 31, 1926, [Convention date]. Tees.-A golf tee comprises a ball-supporting head and a shank for insertion into the ground, and is provided with a leash attached to the upper end of the shank, the head being moulded so as completely to surround the connections between the shank and the leash. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, one end of a leash 2 is firmly held in a cleft 8 in the upper portion of a sheet metal shank 5, and the connection is surrounded by a head 1 formed of indiarubber and cupped to receive a ball. The other end of the leash is preferablv secured in like manner to a similar tee. The leash is formed of metal wire or cable and has a covering 10 of braided silk or indiarubber. The shank is pointed at its lower end and is either straight or waved in form. In a modification, Fig. 3, a shank 11 has a lug 13 and eye 12 bent outwardly in opposite directions. The leash is secured to the eye prior to the moulding of the head.
