Abstract

Card and like cases.- A case for cheques, bills, cards, &c. comprises an outer wall 20 and an inner wall consisting of two longitudinally-spaced end sections 25, 27 attached to the wall 20 along the folding line 24 and side edges 22, 221, and an intermediate section 30 which is free to move relatively to the outer wall and inner wall end sections and bridges the space between said sections. As shown the case is made from a pair of blanks, the section 30 being formed with a partition section 31 and slot 35 through which tabs 28 on the sections 27 are passed before being adhesively attached to the sections 25 when the section 27 are folded on to the sections 25 to form the tubular end sections of the inner wall. The partition 31 provides two cheque or bill compartments 36, 37 and pockets for cards &c. are formed between the sections 25, 30. When the case is folded along the transverse line 21 the intermediate section can move relatively to the other sections and prevent any buckling of the inner wall. The edges 22, 22<1> are connected by adhesive and are preferably skived as shown to give smooth thin edges to the case; the edges 22 may be formed with tongues to engage slits in the sections 25. The tabs 28 may be simply bent through the slot 35 and remain unattached to the sections 25. The sections 25 may be formed with ears 42 which, when the case is made up, hide and protect the corners of the partition 31. The partition section may be dispensed with and in this case the intermediate section is made long enough to ensure that it cannot be displaced sufficiently to permit either end to be pulled out of the corresponding tubular inner wall section: in this case the intermediate wall is provided with a pronounced transverse crease which as the case is closed works itself into the crease 21 upon which the case is folded.
