Abstract
314,592. Sherman, A. E., and Maynard, I. Oct. 15,1928. Drying gases.-In a drying chamber, air valves are opened by pressure during working and closed automatically when the chamber is not in use, and the air passes over and through one or more rotary hollow cylinders over which flows liquid drying-agent. The cylinders c, which may be perforated and covered with canvas and rotate in troughs e, may be replaced by shelves. Liquid calcium chloride is sprayed through a tube t and circulated by a pump s. The gas is drawn by a fan p through baffles g, through a flap valve k, through perforated plates i containing solid calcium chloride and through a valve l operated by hand or suction into a trunk q, where it may be warmed. Saturated calcium chloride solution collecting beneath the plates i is led by a pipe w to the pump s.
