Abstract

Moving-chamber apparatus for delivering a measured quantity of gasolene &c. less than that delivered by a. pump comprises a vessel 1 with an inclined partition 3 forming a receptacle 2 communicating at its deeper end with an opening 9 at the top of a. pyramidal measuring-can 5. The receptacle 2 is filled up to a maximum level 16, which is such that, when the vessel is tilted for emptying through the spout 13, the liquid in the receptacle 2 moves clear of the funnel-shaped end 12 of the spout before any delivery occurs, further tilting causing the can 5 then to empty its contents through the spout. When the vessel is tilted back to the upright position, the can 5 becomes refilled. An air vent 11 connects the can 5 to a depression 10. Drip guards 18, 19 are provided in connection with the opening 9.
